Internet Phone

A reasonable broadband connection plus either an IP phone or an Analogue Telephone Adapter (ATA) and a regular telephone. You need a gateway or adaptor device to adapt the regular phone into an IP phone. You plug the adaptor into your router or switch, and then plug the phone into the adaptor.

One of the additional benefits is that this phone will work with any broadband circuit in the world. So your phone number can travel with you. You have several set up choices (see below).

With this set up a phone would be able to make a regular IP call or a PSTN call. Typically you would set the IP line as the default and then dial 9 to just use the regular phone service. The single phone would be capable of making both types of call. As you can see you can connect up to two phones into a single adaptor.

Equipment required A Lynksys ATA3102. You plug the adaptor into your router or switch, plug your phone line into the adpater and then plug the phone into the adaptor.

 

Using this adapter we can set it up as a voicemail or call forwarding system for your regular analogue phone line.

Equipment required A Lynksys PAP2T. You plug your adaptor into your broadband router.  You then connect two regular phones to the adaptor. These phones will work as two independent phones. Both phones can make and receive calls at the same time.  You can set it up that both phones will ring for an incoming call if you require.

Alternatively you can connect a IP phone directly to your internet router or switch. Once you boot up the phone it will connect with our systems and you are ready to go.

Depending on the other services that you have purchased this will give you many of the services of the largest phone system
